CHQ Wires Application

Cold Heading Quality (CHQ) Wires is a kind of steel wire that is manufactured by drawing and annealing wire rods.

The manufacturing of the Precision Drawell’s Cold Heading Quality (CHQ) Wires involves two important process named HRPPD (Hot Rolled Pickling, Phosphating and Drawing) & SAPPD (Spherodized Annealed, Pickling, Phosphating, and Drawing) are used to make the high-quality CHQ Wires with precision. The major applications of CHQ wire include Fasteners, Cold Forged Parts, Bearings, production of coupling parts such as bolts, nuts, wire for nut bolt, wire for self tapping screw and small screws, and parts for machines.

The predominant reasons to use CHQ Wires in innumerable projects are due to its inherent qualities as they provide a smooth surface and improved tool life in forging, Spheroidized Annealing in nitrogen atmosphere resulting in zero decarburization, Closer tolerances in drawing from proper input sizes, and also to avoid ovality, Minimum 90% spheroidization and uniform grain size.
